Intruders broke into the grounds at Fishers Farm sometime during the night of Friday 10th June.
They opened gateways into six paddocks which released horses, cows ,goats, sheep and pigs into the grounds . Belinda Williams, who discovered the roaming animals at around 6.30 am on Saturday morning said,
“Even the gates that are hard to open were flung wide, over thirty animals of all shapes and sizes were just roaming free, I ran to the main gates and closed them, they could so easily have got onto the roads.”
Tim Rollings, owner of Fishers Farm said “Belinda was in a terrible state, it is impossible to comprehend the mentality of anyone involved in this incident. Nothing appears to have been stolen or vandalised, it was simply a mindless act that could have had horrendous consequences. We are all shocked that anyone would do such a thing”.
The one hundred and twenty five people employed at the park have all been informed of the incident and Tim is hoping that someone will come forward with information.

How it all began...Fishers was bought in a derelict state in the summer of 1985 by Trina and Tim Rollings. They planted acres of fruit, converted the old stables into holiday cottages and set-up a very popular campsite. The fruit was sold from a small shed and due to popular demand there was soon a kettle boiling and Trina baking her famous cakes!
In June 1990 the farm opened as a visitor centre and this year we're celebrating our 21st anniversary trading as a visitor attraction. Going from 6,000 visitors a year to now an award-winning attraction with over 170,000 visiting us a year! And Trina is still baking her cakes!

We've gone Quackers over this one! |
|
'Quackers' arrived at Fishers today after being rescued by one of our members 'Sue Metters'. Sue's son Toby had found him left all alone in their back garden in Pulborough with no family in sight. Feeling so sorry for the little fellow, they scooped him up into a little box and brought him in to us here at Fishers. Staff and customers alike have fallen in love with him, and he will be joining the other ducklings very soon and making some new friends!

New Spanish Galleon Launch |
|
On Saturday 09 & Sunday 10 April we held the fantastic 'Pirate Weekend' to launch to the grand opening of our brand new Spanish Galleon! We received a great number of fancy dressed Pirates - including a number of Mums and Dad s too!
The winners for 'Best Pirate Costume of The Day' were Ella Bryant-Brand age 8 and Max Cole age 5 who looked fantastic! Closely followed by Lottie Brook, Bea Mulder, Frank Jeater and Harley Garnett - Well done to you all!
The day was launched and the new attraction opened by local thespian Nevin Davies pictured here on the left (also known as Captain Sparrow!). After the planks had been walked and the decking climbed, everyone then took part in a grand treasure hunt around the park taking home some real lost Fishers gold!
Built by Geoff Cooper, Bill Pentecost and other members of the Fishers team, 'The Galleon' has proved a real success...and the next new attraction will be...The Tree Houses!!
